Instructional Technology vs. Traditional Class

Why should we consider integrating technology in our classrooms?   I read an article today that indicates that college students score higher in classes that incorporate instructional technology vs. traditional classes.  The article can be found at http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/03/080324125154.htm

Not only did the students score higher in the instructional technology classes, but the instructor stated that he had expanded his instructional capacities and provided a better learning environment for the students.

Do you think integrating technology in your classroom makes a difference for you and your students?

  1. Do you feel you are doing better, because you are using technology in this program? It is not technology that makes a great class, the instructor and the content has a great deal to do with making a class engaging as well. This was a good link. I think it shows that we need to use technology in the classroom.

  2. This class has been enjoyable due to the teacher, content, and the technology. All three components have added value to the course. It's been exciting having the opportunity to learn how to integrate the technology into my classes. Technology gives a teacher additional tools to use to reach the students. There are so many resources available today that it is challenging to determine which tool to apply. The courses at Full Sail have given me the opportunity to explore various tools and to make better decisions about how to integrate the technology into my courses.

  3. I would be very intersted in seeing this carried over into the "real world". How are these students performing in the work place. Is the use of technology in the classroom helping them get jobs that already exist, or more important, those that are being developed as we teach.
